This folk art piece is made in the style of 18th-century American redware pottery and decorated with sgraffito technique. A contrasting clay is applied to the red clay body and the design is then scratched through the top layer of clay. Potter Thomas Wintczak handmakes all his pottery at his beautiful Posey County property just outside New Harmony.
