Ernie Westfield, nicknamed "Tennessee Ernie," played for the Birmingham Black Barons from 1959-1965. He was originally signed to the Chicago Cubs organization for their Carlsbad minor league team. He was a renowned pitcher and played in the last East-West All Star game at Comiskey Park in Chicago in 1960, according to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum!
